Central Wisconsin Pride

The Central Wisconsin Pride Committee is in full swing beginning to plan this year’s Pride Festival.

We are very excited to have selected a new location for this year.  The event will be held at the Portage County Fairgrounds in Amherst Wisconsin.  (Just 10 miles out of Stevens Point).   This venue will give us a greater selection of entertainment (drag queens) that we've been unable to have entertain for us in the past few years at the park in Stevens Point.

Thank you goes out to the Portage County Fair board for welcoming us to your community.

We are currently working on selecting vendors, entertainment and activities for the days event.   If anyone would like to make suggestions please contact us.

We’re also very excited to be welcoming back Leah Jee and the Boys from Milwaukee to be performing for us again.    The band performed for us last year at the Pride Festival and then again for our Halloween Party in October.    It was a great time and they are a lot of fun!   You can find out more information about this great band at http://www.myspace.com/leahjee.

For our primary fund raiser this year we have decided to have a raffle for which we will be raffling off a Samsung 56” HDTV at the pride festival.   We’ve already purchased the TV, our Raffle License has been received and the raffle tickets will be printed within a week.   Tickets will go on sale shortly and will be available for sale through the day of the pride festival.     Proceeds from the event go to pay for entertainment, tents, location etc.
